Funding information & support

Your ESCO is able to provide help with informaton about Makng a Difference fundng and the bid process for extended services funding and may also cascade relevant funding opportunities from time to time. ESCOs also have access to funding databases so can help schools to search for funding for specific projects. Please see our downloads for more information:

If you have a PTA it is probably a registered charity - this means it can access funding streams which the school may not be able to apply for directly.

If your school has a PTA affiliated to the NCPTA they are able to access a wide range of support services including:
• Access to a searchable database listing over 4,000 charitable trusts and grant-making organisatiions
• Fundraising ideas, resources and advice http://www.ncpta.org.uk/information/100582/fundraising/

Important factors in successful bids include

  • Understand the funder - what is their brief/goal and how can you best demonstrate your bid is contributing to this
  • Consultation/demonstration of need/meeting the needs of disadvantaged groups
  • Partnership working/sharing facilities, expertise etc
  • Community use and involvement
  • Extra curricular opportunities (organisations will not fund curriculum activity - this is already centrally funded)
  • Match funding - this can be in kind e.g. gratis project management
  • Secure governance and accountability arrangements
  • Innovation and creativity
