To find holiday schemes and out of school childcare in your area visit the childcare search facility

NFDC also list holiday and out of school childcare some of which is offered by Adventure, Activity and Education Centres. This website will also give you information about those providing the care, including whether they are registered with Ofsted.

A number of the after school childcare facilities are based at schools but this is dependent on having enough children to make the service viable. Childcare providers may accept children from other schools. Some can arrange transport from your child's school (if there is sufficient local demand) to the club, at an extra cost - you would need to collect your child from the club.

Local schools often provide information about what is available if you need somewhere for your child to be in the school holidays - have a look on the noticeboard or ask in the school office - have a look at the local area pages New Milton, Lymington & Brockenhurst, Ringwood & Fordingbridge where you find details of local Extended Services Co-ordinator and/or holiday events and activities.

Please be aware that these not all organisations offering holiday activities for children are required to be registered with Ofsted, and are not necessarily part of a school – even if they operate on a school site. Whilst holiday activities can allow children to have lots of fun and a place to be whilst parents are at work parents need to satisfy themselves that the needs of their child will be met. Tile Barn Outdoor Centre at Brockenhurst  and Avon Tyrell at Thorney Hill near Bransgore - offer a range of outdoor activities and camps. Calshot Activity Centre offers similar plus watersports. Blashford Lakes near Ringwood run holiday play days email jimd@hwt.org.uk as does Beaulieu Out of Town Centre.

NFDC New Forest Leisure Centres at Applemore, Lymington, New Milton, Ringwood and Totton - offering sports and activity based sessions.

Planet Sport/Team Elite offer a variety of sports sessions (half and full days) in the local area.

Priestlands Community Arts at Lymington - offers 'Wonder Week' art and music based activities. Forest Arts in New Milton, CODA Music in New Milton and ArtSway offer similar opportunities.
